Earthquake Awareness Summit Held at Our Chamber

The "Earthquake Awareness Summit" organized in cooperation with Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Namık Kemal University on preparing our region for an earthquake, the risks that await our region in a possible earthquake, earthquake-resistant structures and innovative reinforcement technologies was held at Enis Sülün Conference Hall and Performance Center.

Çorlu District Governor Mr. Murat Eren, Çorlu Mayor Mr. Ahmet Sarıkurt, Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board Chairman Mr. İzzet Volkan, Namık Kemal University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mr. Murat Taşan, Çorlu Faculty of Engineering Dean Mr. Lokman Hakan Tecer, Thrace Universities Union Secretary General Mr. Murat Aras attended the summit.

TNKU Structural and Earthquake Engineer Dr. Lecturer Mr. Ahmet Bal, ITU Structural and Earthquake Engineer Prof. Dr. Mr. Oğuz Cem Çelik, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Dr. Kurtuluş Atasever, NTU /US National Academy of Engineering Dr. Keh-Chyuan Tsai, National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering Assoc.Rs.An-Chien Wu-Taiwan, National Cheng Kung University Asst. Prof. Pao-Chun Lin provided information to the participants.

Experts shared the possible earthquake risks in our region, the techniques required for the construction of earthquake-resistant structures and the latest reinforcement methods with the participants. It was emphasized that such events are of great importance in increasing the society's earthquake preparedness and creating awareness. The summit provided the participants with new perspectives on earthquake preparedness.
